G&H

Building a new identity for G&H

If you're a business or contractor wanting to make your building sustainably functional, you need G&H. They've spent the last 26 years delivering mechanical, electrical and public health solutions for clients such as Caddick, Eddisons, Cenergist and CBRE. But what really sets G&H apart? Their commitment to their team, their communities, and the planet.

Challenge

G&H wanted to consolidate their five separate divisions under one master brand. And this master brand needed a new identity to match. Out went ‘G&H Group of Companies’, because the new kid on the block was a short and simple ‘G&H’.

Everything needed to be fresh and sleek to support the business’ considered and welcoming approach. But one thing was clear: we weren’t reinventing the wheel here – it was an evolution rather than a revolution approach. G&H is a major industry competitor with a strong reputation, so ripping things up and starting again wasn’t an option.

Timing was one of our biggest challenges. There was a lot to coordinate, bringing together five separate divisions with their own marketing collateral under one cohesive brand.

Our work needed to stand out without alienating employees and clients who were familiar with G&H’s existing identity, values and tone of voice.

To top it all off, this rebrand needed to solidify G&H’s positioning as an inclusive and socially conscious contractor in an industry that traditionally puts clients over culture.

HUB has pulled out all the stops to deliver a new visual direction that cements G&H as one and encompasses all our M&E services. It has been very well received both internally and externally.

It has been a pleasure working with the team. There is nothing they cannot do. The benefit of working with HUB is that every service – design, interiors, website development and more – is under one roof.

Solution

It’s clear that G&H needed a brand design agency that not only understood their long-term goals but could deliver a comprehensive rebrand all under one roof.

Enter HUB.

From first meeting to brand launch, this entire project took us only six short months. Our capabilities as an integrated agency came into play and our team’s expertise helped us to not just do the job – but do it well.

First, we tackled the brand personality, tone of voice, key messaging and G&H’s new mission, vision and values. This included discovery sessions with a cross-section of G&H’s entire team, from directors to engineers and apprentices, to find out what really makes G&H unique.

Next, a brand-new visual identity. A revamped logo, colour palette, strapline, typography and style of photography. A fresh website was designed for both desktop and mobile, and stationery was designed and printed for company-wide use. Think business cards, letterheads, notebooks, ID badges; that kind of thing. Everything from hi-vis jackets to hard hats were all part of the new look.

We created van-wrap designs. Completely revamped G&H’s head office. Delivered a company brand video with eye-catching graphics, and a CGI logo ident that HUB produced in-house.

All of this was bundled together perfectly in a curated brand book, aka the G&H Bible.

Results

A project of this scale called for an integrated agency with a certain level of experience and skill set. Our in-house capabilities meant that G&H had made the perfect match with HUB.

The success of the work was our biggest driver, and we were thrilled to deliver excellence to another happy HUB client.
