Launching a line of sweets to rival Haribo and Maoam

Highcrest wanted to create their own line of sweets. More specifically, they wanted to give Haribo, Maoam and Chupa Chups a run for their money. Gummies, mints, lolly pops, chewing gums; you name it, they had a great product idea for it. Our client's experience in the world of confectionary spans 15 years. And HUB's strong background in packaging and brand development and design made for a delicious match.

The products that Highcrest wanted to take the market were exceptional. Music to our ears. Tantalising to our tastebuds. We couldn’t wait to get stuck in and find the sweet spot between bold brand execution and eye-catching packaging.

One slight problem, though – time wasn’t on our side.

Projects of this scale typically span over months of deliberation and approvals. But we only had a matter of weeks. A few short weeks to develop brand identities, create distinguishable designs, and deliver memorable packaging that would make them irresistible to consumers.

Our team has 30 combined years of experience in FMCG packaging design and execution. These specialisms allow us to create brands that quite literally fly off the shelves. And our commitment to detail and consistency allowed us to go beyond Highcrest’s brief.

But how exactly did we do it, you ask?

– We generated 10 unique brand names with a captivating brand story and identity to accompany each one.

– We created an impressive design for each brand product under the Chooee umbrella.

– Then, we rolled out the designs into individual pieces of artwork for each product.

When competing with big players like Haribo and Mentos, it isn’t easy to create something that will rival their shelf appeal. But Highcrest felt confident that HUB’s designs would. Once we got the go ahead, our designs were sent to print.

And then it was up to shoppers to decide if Highcrest had made the right move in choosing HUB as their packaging design agency.

Results

Thanks to their strong brand identities and tasty contents, Highcrest’s products are in high demand – with stockists including Iceland, B&M, Home Bargains and Farmfoods.

Delivering a project of this scale in such a short timeframe was a huge achievement for HUB. The already fast-paced world of FMCG certainly had its foot on the gas. Our team proudly supported Highcrest, getting their products to market with branding that looked as fantastic as they tasted.
