Challenge

S-Box® came to us with a website that was clunky, outdated, and not fit for purpose. They needed a complete rebuild that could handle complex trade functionality while looking premium enough to inspire consumer demand.

Moreover, the existing site didn’t align with where S-Box® wanted to go as a business. The design felt dated, the user experience was poor, and the technical infrastructure couldn’t support their growth ambitions.

But this wasn’t just a design refresh. S-Box® operates in two worlds: selling to trade customers with account-specific pricing, while simultaneously showcasing products to end consumers who specify them to their kitchen fitters. The new site needed to serve both audiences seamlessly.

Add to that the complexity of international trading – different VAT rates across European countries, region-specific pricing, and trade account approval workflows – and the technical requirements stacked up quickly.

The brief was clear: enhance UX/UI, modernise the design, future-proof the platform, and build the infrastructure to support a growing international B2B operation.

Solution

We approached this as an end-to-end project, covering design, development, branding, and technical infrastructure.

We started with a design workshop to elevate the brand online. S-Box®’s chameleon motif – a nod to their products’ ability to blend seamlessly into any space – became a visual thread throughout the site.

The site was built on WordPress with WooCommerce, giving S-Box® the flexibility to manage everyday content themselves while we handled the complex functionality behind the scenes. We implemented flexible, pre-built content blocks that could be reused and reconfigured quickly – faster rollout, lower cost, and better economy for a growing business.

S-Box®’s trade portal was where the technical challenge really kicked in. We integrated B2B for WooCommerce to create separate experiences: trade customers see account-specific pricing and region-based discounts, while public users see RRP and CTAs designed to drive product specification. Trade sign-ups require manual authorisation, checkout journeys adapt by delivery location, and we configured plugins to handle VAT across multiple European rates. Complex functionality, now a seamless experience.

On the backend, we built in CMS flexibility so S-Box®’s team could create and roll out pages themselves without needing developer support for every update – a crucial step for a smaller business that needs to move fast.

Finally, we handled the SEO technical migration, preserving URL structure wherever possible and implementing 301 redirects for everything else. The result? No loss of search visibility during the transition.

Training was included to get the S-Box® team up to speed on managing orders, editing content, and building new pages using the block system we’d implemented. They were ready to take it from here.

Results

S-Box® now has a site that matches their ambition. And – importantly – a CMS that gives them the control to move quickly without relying on external support for every change.

From design workshop to live site, this was an end-to-end project that covered branding, UX/UI, development, e-commerce functionality, international trading infrastructure, and SEO migration. A complete rebuild – delivered by HUB.
