Cookology
Being the UK’s number one tabletop appliance brand is a great start, but Cookology’s catalogue runs deeper. Fridges, ovens, dishwashers – the full lineup. They needed a brand strategy to match. In a market flooded with global brand competitors on one side and nameless drop-shippers on the other, staying visible is a constant challenge. So Cookology came to HUB. The original brief was just SEO. The reality was much bigger.

Challenge
Cookology was already the UK’s number one tabletop appliance brand, but their full range of kitchen appliances needed the same recognition. They’d built a thriving business on marketplaces like Amazon and eBay, but that third-party success came with a problem: little brand loyalty or recognition.
Cookology wanted to compete with the big dogs. Currys. AO. Argos. The problem? Their existing SEO strategy wasn’t cutting it. Tactics focused on keyword chasing instead of brand building. Putting it simply, it was generic and siloed.
And here’s the thing about silos: they don’t build successful brands.
Integration does.
As it stood, Cookology simply didn’t have the brand awareness to support the rankings they wanted in the white goods space. Sales were coming in, but they were unable to scale.
They were stuck between two worlds: big household names with years of recognition, and faceless importers with value on their side. To compete, Cookology needed to become the established appliance brand in the value space, recognised for quality, service, and genuine UK presence.
Challenge accepted.
Solution
First things first, we had to make sure the Cookology website was ready.
Product pages had previously been written for algorithms, not humans. We flipped that on its head. We enriched product listing and detail pages with genuinely useful content, while working with their dev agency to implement critical technical SEO fixes.
Next up, visual content. To compete with the big names, Cookology needed to look like one. We got stuck into photo and video shoots covering over 40 products. Shiny new assets filled their content bank for the website, social media, and Google Shopping feeds.
With momentum building, it was time to tighten the performance side. At HUB, we know that growth doesn’t just come from doing more. It comes from doing things together.
Our original SEO brief grew into organic and paid social media, creative, content, and digital PR.
And we started making noise.
Our digital PR team got to work getting the Cookology name out there. If people didn’t recognise the brand, nothing else would matter – so we made Cookology headline news.
We came at it from multiple angles. Consumer press in Mail Online, The Mirror, The Express, Good Housekeeping, and The Sun showcased Cookology’s products and built brand trust. Business coverage in Insider Media and Business Live positioned Cookology as a serious player. We secured spots in T3 for the gadget crowd and ran relatable lifestyle stories – from myth-busting fridge storage tips to messy student flat features – to get the brand in front of their potential customers.
We conducted a PPC review, took over campaign management, and immediately planned their Black November strategy, rolling into Christmas and January sales.
We transformed their email marketing strategy, improving flow emails while introducing promotional campaigns to drive regular activity around offers. Meanwhile, paid social became a re-marketing powerhouse.
And then, when Cookology wanted to launch their first showroom, we pulled out all the stops. Every channel came into play to make the opening an unmissable event.
We delivered a comprehensive 42-page product brochure. Geo-targeted direct mail, paid social campaigns, and strategic emails drove awareness. Signage and information displays ensured the showroom commanded attention, while media outreach secured key industry journalists to attend and cover the opening. A milestone moment for Cookology – and we were there every step of the way.
Results
The numbers don’t lie. Integration works.
Cookology now goes toe-to-toe with brands such as Currys, AO, Argos, and B&Q in the SERPs – particularly impressive for a single brand competing against multi-brand retail giants.
The bigger picture?
Overall, our integrated efforts increased Cookology’s revenue growth by 323%, while pulling back ad spend by 46%. That’s a mammoth 680% increase in ROAS. Not too shabby, if we do say so ourselves.
From scattergun to strategic. That’s the power of true integration.
